We were recently invited to carry out a tailored upgrade at Ickburgh School’s rebound therapy room, enhancing the space with new equipment and updated features. The room was already a well-established part of the school’s therapeutic provision, and this refresh aimed to support staff and pupils even further with improved access, usability, and safety-focused enhancements.

Enhancing a Trusted Space

Our goal was to complement the existing setup with custom-designed additions and purposeful upgrades. Everything was installed to a high standard, with great care taken to work in harmony with the layout and structure already in place.

• Custom wheelaway padded steps with colourful alternating treads and dual handrails for stable access onto the trampoline bed.
• Additional trampoline corner supports to reinforce the fit and finish of the new padding system and allow supporters greater flexibility.
• Yellow coverall pads, chosen for their high contrast with the blue wall pads. This improves edge visibility, especially for users with colour vision deficiency.
• Precision-fitted floor mats to infill recessed areas flush with the trampoline frame, enhancing comfort and safety.
• Six balustrade posts with polycarbonate panels for a clear and unobtrusive view of the area whilst increasing safety.

Simple Changes with a Big Impact

The result is a space that looks fresh, feels inviting, and remains familiar for its users. The new colour scheme improves usability for users with visual impairments, and adds energy to the room, and the updated steps and matting improve transitions and accessibility.

The polycarbonate screening above the balustrade creates a clear boundary while maintaining a sense of openness. All elements were designed to integrate cleanly and offer long-term durability and ease of use.

This remains a space that staff and pupils know and trust – it has simply been enhanced to serve them even better.
